Only online gifts and designated gifts through Donor Advised Funds at ACT for Alexandria and processed between April 3rd and April 15th are eligible for Leaderboard prizes (Early Giving Period includes April 3-April 14). Donor Advised Funds used as matching grants for individual nonprofits are not eligible for Leaderboard prizes.
Unless otherwise noted, only online donations made during Spring2ACTion on April 15, 2020, will be considered for prizes. All prizes winners are subject to verification.
Organizations are only eligible to win one leaderboard prize, one early giving prize, one power hour prize, and one randomly drawn prize. If your organization qualified for more than one leaderboard prize, ACT for Alexandria referred to your highest-ranking placement for final winner standings.
Tie-breakers: if there is a tie for any time period for total number of unique donors or total dollars, the prize will go to the organization with the highest average donation during that time period.
A unique donor is defined by their email address.
ACT for Alexandria will appear on the overall Leaderboards, however, ACT for Alexandria is not eligible to win any prizes.
What is a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) at ACT for Alexandria and how does it work during Spring2ACTion?
A donor advised fund (DAF) is a simple and personal way to give charitably. DAFs are like a charitable bank account where the donor can control when and how much to give to causes they care about anywhere in the world. Benefits include an immediate tax deduction for the value of the assets deposited into the fund, a simple, flexible, and powerful tool to manage philanthropy, and legacy of giving for families to give for generations. Individuals and families with DAFs at ACT are able to use their Fund to support Spring2ACTion and make donations from their Fund to participating nonprofit organizations. While DAF gifts are processed offline, the donations are eligible for leaderboard prize consideration.
