The Kathy Wilson Foundation

A nonprofit organization

$1,565 raised by 13 donors

The Kathy Wilson Foundation supports our youngest learners with learning differences, delays and disabilities. The KWF was founded in 2005 by Paul Wilson in memory of Kathy Wilson, who was a much loved preschool director in the City of Alexandria and an advocate for women and children. Kathy believed in the power of learning -- and especially that children with atypical learning patterns should not be left out of classrooms and playgrounds.

Since returning to our "giving mission" in 2023, we have awarded $87,000 in grants to preschools and organizations that support our youngest learners.  Our goal is to hit $100,000+ in grants this year. That means your donation goes to programs that support preschool children first and foremost.

We believe, like you, that EVERY child thrives when they can learn and play together.  KWF grants have supported tuition assistance, special equipment, therapy services, teacher training, shadow aides for children that require extra attention, and other needs that make it easier for preschools and organizations to welcome families and their children with learning disabilities.

Your donation makes it possible and we are excited to lend a hand in a direct, meaningful way.

We don't all think the same and we don't all learn the same either.
