Help Us Transform Lives Through Music!

The Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association (WMPA) is aiming to raise $55,000 during this year’s Spring2ACTion campaign. The Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic (WashMetPhil) musicians are working together to raise $12,000 to help WMPA reach their goal and continue uniting and uplifting our community through music!

About the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic

  • A modern, symphonic orchestra of approximately 65 professional and semi-professional musicians, conducted by conductor Anna Binneweg.
  • Dedicated to innovative and exhilarating live music experiences, blending beloved classics with rarely heard works.
  • Champions diversity and inclusion, with a focus on American music, living composers, and underrepresented artists.
  • Performs five concerts each season at iconic Alexandria venues: the George Washington Masonic National Memorial and Schlesinger Concert Hall.

WMPA is supporting the next generation.

WMPA is also home to the Washington Metropolitan Youth Orchestra and Concert Orchestra, providing local students in grades 6–12 the opportunity to perform and learn alongside professional musicians—including side-by-side concerts with WashMetPhil.

WMPA believes in music for ALL!

  • Community Concerts bring WashMetPhil members to underserved neighborhoods.
  • For 36 years, the Lyceum Chamber Series has offered free summer performances at the Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum.
