Twelve tiny puppies and one exhausted mama were found hidden behind a home in rural Virginia, living outside in a weed covered pen where no one could see their suffering. At just 8 and 9 weeks old, these babies were filthy, covered in fleas, completely unvaccinated, and had never known the safety and comfort every puppy deserves. Thankfully, their owner finally reached out, and rescuers scrambled to get them out of those heartbreaking conditions. Other rescues are helping with Mom and four of the puppies, but Homeward Trails is hoping to take in the remaining eight, and they desperately need help. Eight puppies means eight vet exams, vaccines, preventatives, supplies, and everything it takes to get eight fragile little lives healthy and into loving foster homes. This is a huge undertaking, but after the way their lives began, we cannot turn our backs on them now. Please consider sponsoring a puppy or donating toward their care. They have spent their first weeks of life forgotten in the dirt. Help us make sure the rest of their story looks nothing like the beginning.
