Three Tiny Lives Waiting for Their First Safe Home

Taina, Leona, and Miel are only eight weeks old, but their lives began in a place no puppy should ever have to survive. Born in the woods in Puerto Rico, they spent their earliest days curled beside their mother, hidden among the trees. Kind neighbors tried to help, bringing food when they could, but as the puppies grew and began to explore, their world became far more dangerous. Their mother couldn’t protect them from everything, and time was running out. Thankfully, one of our trusted rescue partners in Puerto Rico stepped in just in time, gathering the little family to safety before tragedy could strike. Now, thanks to the kindness of a generous flight volunteer who is covering the cost of their journey, Taina, Leona, and Miel are on their way to the DC area. Tiny, hopeful, and ready for a chance at the life they deserve. Homeward Trails Animal Rescue is preparing to welcome them, but we need help with their medical care, supplies, and placement into loving foster homes. These puppies have already escaped danger once.
