Reese is Waiting to Be Rescued

Reese is only three years old, but her eyes look tired in a way that breaks your heart. This sweet mixed breed girl was found wandering alone in southwest Virginia, surviving who knows how long as a stray, facing hunger, cold nights, storms, traffic, and the constant danger that comes with having no one to protect you. She was brought to a shelter, but sadly no one ever came to claim her. Now Reese sits in a kennel at a rural shelter, day after day, looking completely defeated and scared, shrinking into the corner while the noise of barking dogs echoes around her. She may be off the streets, but she is still not truly safe until a rescue steps in to pull her. Homeward Trails wants to give Reese the second chance she has never had, but we cannot do that without sponsors and donations. Please help us bring her out of that cage and into the safety she has been waiting her whole life to feel.
