I joined the Singers in 2007. There were about 25 - 30 members. We now have over 100 members. Every week, more than 90 singers walk into rehearsal carrying the full weight of their days, including work, family, and responsibility. For two hours they set it down, breathe together, listen to one another, and create something none of them could create alone. That's not just music. That's a community.
I joined the Singers at an older age, when it's not easy to make new friends. I now count many past and present Singers as true friends who have supported me over the years. As they say in our group, "Once a Singer, always a Singer" (whether you like it or not!)
We are a diverse group and enjoy entertaining in the Alexandria area. Hopefully, we inspire children to take up singing and experience its rewards as well.
We know times are tough. But any amount you could give to our group would be much appreciated. Enjoy the Spring Season.
