This Heeler mix from rural Virginia was surrendered by his owner along with three other dogs, who’ve since been rescued, leaving Lincoln behind to sit alone in a crowded, lonely shelter. Day after day, he waits in a small cage, his puppy energy fading into quiet resignation. In this rural shelter, adoptions are rare and time is not on his side.
