Lilac Wants Nothing More Than a Family to Love

Beautiful Lilac is a 6 month old yellow lab puppy who spends her days curled up in the back of a cold, metal kennel in an overcrowded rural Virginia shelter. She came in as a stray, scared and shivering, and no one ever came to reclaim her. Each morning, she lifts her head when footsteps come down the aisle, her tail giving the tiniest wag, only to watch other dogs leave while she’s left behind once again. The shelter is bursting at the seams, with barking and scary noises, but Lilac stays quiet, too overwhelmed and heartbroken to make a sound. Homeward Trails is ready to give Lilac the safe, loving home she’s never known, but they can’t do it without your help.
