Pugsy has been through a lot

Pugsy is a 5-year-old pug who was found as a stray in Puerto Rico. After days of roaming the streets in front of a local foster's house, Pugsy was finally caught.  At some point before her rescue, Pugsy suffered an injury which left her blind in one eye and required a removal of the affected eye.  Pugsy was able to receive the care she needed, however, this was not the end of her challenges.  Testing at the vet during her surgery revealed that she was also heartworm positive and will require expensive treatment for this life threatening disease.  

Just days ago we were lucky to find a flight volunteer who generously carried Pugsy to Virginia and covered the cost of her flight fee, but she still needs our help.  Pugsy has been through so much, and we want to make the rest of her life smooth and happy.
