Gound-Breaking Donation Match to Support our Spay/Neuter and Fieldwork in Danville!
We are SUPER excited to share that we have been given a $7,500 matching donation from the Danville Area Humane Society to support our spay/neuter and fieldwork in Danville. This is truly groundbreaking in that we are looking to turn an important corner in Danville that will result in collaboration between our two organizations focused on greater lifesaving and decreased euthanasia at the shelter. GROUNDBREAKING!
This donation is a matching request in order for us to fund more of our work in Danville. As you know, we run a full-time program there with an office that allows us to host up to 80 cats for our TNVR events, an isolation area for sick animals and plenty of space for our program director to work from.
Additionally, every donor giving $150 or more will be entered into a raffle to win a one-night stay at the Trails Home Farm and a $50 gift certificate to the delicious nearby Front Porch Bistro restaurant!
Our Trails UP team is in Danville every other month for large-scale TNVR events while our program director works with the shelter every week to rescue animals that come to HT or other shelters/rescues across Virginia for adoption. Last year, our efforts resulted in more than 325 animals leaving the shelter or community for medical care, foster and adoptive homes. 325 animals that would have otherwise faced euthanasia.
We have an important agreement now with the shelter that they will call us as soon as any underaged kitties or pups enter the shelter so we can whisk them away to fosters, keeping them from illness and giving them the urgent care they need.
Also – this just in. Homeward Trails Danville just finalized a super exciting partnership with the Danville Otterbotts and Dairy Daddies, Danville’s MLB Partner League franchise! That’s right, Homeward Trails Danville is the exclusive animal rescue partner starting 2026!
We are VERY EXCITED to actualize this donation asap but need to raise the matching $7,500 – before we visit in March for our next TNVR event. Your donation will be matched 100% up til our goal of $7,500.
