PTA Council of Alexandria (PTAC)

As part of the Alexandria PTA Council's (PTAC) continuing effort to advance family equity in Alexandria City Public Schools, we are participating in this year's Spring2ACTion campaign to raise funds for our PTA units that operate with fewer resources. Your donation will provide financial support for family engagement activities in the schools that serve Alexandria's most vulnerable children.

Last year, the Alexandria PTA Council (PTAC) raised money to support our Equity Fund which allowed us to:

• Provide direct budgetary to three Title 1 PTA units that fell below a minimum student/dollar ratio established by PTAC's Executive Board


• Provide grants for various programs among several of our Title I PTA units, including membership drives, movie nights, school T-shirts;


• Provide small end of year grants to all ACPS Title I PTA units, including ACHS;


• Host a Spring Fling at William Ramsay Elementary for all Beauregard Corridor families (Ramsay, FTD & John Adams) that featured enrichment activities and community resource tables; 


• Provide trainings for all PTA leaders on communications, leadership and Givebacks

This year, we hope to focus our efforts on increasing family engagement across APCS schools, supporting their membership campaigns, and helping units thank our staff and teachers. 

President Catie Brownback said, "The PTA mission is "to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children." PTAC works to make that mission a reality by connecting units across the city to unite behind shared advocacy points, and to live the ACPS tagline of "one team, one journey."
