Patrick Henry School PTA -Alexandria

The past year has been a busy one and very successful for the Patrick Henry Elementary School. The children once again performed very well in their standardized testing! We are very fortunate to have not only great students but an amazing group of Faculty/Teachers who care and guide our kids to success after success. This year advocated for the new Patrick Henry School which has been aproved at all levels and the project will break ground this spring. ACPS has gone through a Redistricting for all the schools and the PHES PTA represented Patrick Henry so we will have almost the same footprint as before but adding some new families that were formerly in the Tucker School zone. We look forward to adding them to the PHES PTA family. The new Patrick Henry School will help these children continue getting a great education to be successes far into the future. Patrick Henry K–8 School is in a year of exciting growth and transition. As we continue to evolve, the Patrick Henry PTA is raising funds to support key initiatives that directly benefit our students and teachers—everything from books and classroom supplies to student events and teacher appreciation efforts.

Our goal is to create a more joyful, inclusive, and well-resourced environment for every child and educator in our school community.

Located on the West End of Alexandria, Patrick Henry is a proud Title I school, where the majority of students receive free or reduced-price meals. Our vibrant and diverse school family includes over 1,000 students representing more than four languages and many cultures. We’re proud of our multicultural identity, and we work hard to ensure every child feels seen, supported, and celebrated.

Who We Are

Patrick Henry K-8 School is a title 1 school located in the west end of the city of Alexandria, seven miles from the nation's capital. Patrick Henry is on a fifteen-acre site in a valley that was once woodlands. The school opened in September of 1953. In 1995, eight additional classes were added. The Alexandria Recreation Department an after-school program in their facilities adjoining the school.

The Patrick Henry school is a highly diverse school representing many cultures and languages. We are proud of our diversity!

Our organization represents the Patrick Henry PTA - we work together to help our students and family build a strong community - we especially try to help support our families in need, embrace our diversity and culture, and want to promote success to our students!
