Alexandria City Titans Hockey Club

The Alexandria City Titans Hockey Club is the Varsity-level club ice hockey team representing Alexandria City High School and Wakefield High School. Our club was founded to give boys and girls the opportunity to represent their school on the ice, to build community support for ice hockey at the youth and school levels in Northern Virginia and to provide financial support for students who may not be able to afford the high costs associated with ice hockey. The club is a charter member of the Capital Scholastic Hockey League in Northern Virginia. The Titans recently won the 2023-24 CSHL Capitals Cup Championship as well as in 2018. In addition, they were CSHL regular season champs in 2019. 

The Titans Hockey Club is a volunteer-managed organization and does not receive financial support from Alexandria City Public Schools nor from ACHS itself. All funds to operate the club are raised by the student-athletes, their families and through sponsorships and community donations. We have expanded the program over the past five years to include a full Varsity program, a new Junior Varsity program and a spring development team to introduce high school level hockey to rising middle school players. Our student-athletes have participated in youth hockey clinics in Alexandria, including the opening of the outdoor roller hockey rink at Hammond Middle School in 2019, and are given important leadership opportunities throughout the school year.

The yearly cost to run our hockey club is nearly $20,000. There is limited availability for ice time in Northern Virginia and the cost for a 90-minute practice or game slot is now over $700. Our team is limited in its ability to practice to only two pre-season nights due to the high costs of ice time and the ever-rising other fees associated with ice hockey.

Your donation will allow us to continue to build a successful program at the high school level and to do more to expand our youth hockey outreach in Alexandria.
