Bring Rose Greely’s Vision to Life at Frank Lloyd Wright's Pope-Leighey House

This Spring2ACTion, help Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House realize a dream nearly 80 years in the making. In 1947, Rose Greely, the first female landscape architect in Washington, D.C., designed a stunning vision for the landscape of our Frank Lloyd Wright’s Pope-Leighey House. Her plans included vibrant floral gardens and a landscape that would beautifully complement Wright’s Usonian-designed family home.

With your support, we are looking for donations to develop Pope-Leighey’s landscape and create a new gardening program that invites our Alexandria community outdoors to learn, explore, and connect with the site’s expansive history.

At Woodlawn, our 125-acre property offers endless possibilities for education, engagement, and discovery. Your donation will not only honor Rose Greely’s pioneering work but also transform our grounds into a living classroom where history, architecture, and nature come together.

Help Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House cultivate history, community, and beauty!
