Help Us Create a Safe and Educational Playground for the Early Learning Center

At United Community’s Early Learning Center, children learn, grow, and build the foundation for lifelong success. Our program takes a two-generation approach, supporting not only young children but also their parents. While children receive high-quality early childhood education in a safe, nurturing environment, parents gain access to United Community’s network of programs and services that support family stability, education, and economic mobility.

We also partner with Project Opportunity at Bryant Alternative High School to ensure that teen parents can continue their education and pursue career pathways while their children are cared for in a supportive learning environment.

Outdoor play is a critical part of early childhood development. A thoughtfully designed playground provides opportunities for children to explore, imagine, create, and learn about the world around them. By expanding and improving our outdoor learning space, we can give children hands-on experiences that build confidence, curiosity, and creativity.

Our vision is to update our current playground and garden to create an interactive outdoor space where children can:

• Dig and explore in a sandbox
• Plant and care for a garden
• Experiment with nature and sensory play
• Build, create, and imagine through open-ended outdoor activities

With your help, we can transform our playground into a vibrant learning environment.

Your gift can make a direct impact:

• $3,000 helps us paint and repair the playground storage shed
• $1,000 helps purchase a weather-proof 10x10 sandbox for sensory and exploratory play
• $300 helps build 2 new garden beds for hands-on learning
• $150 helps purchase child-safe garden tools
• $50 helps purchase 5 fruit and vegetable plants for children to grow and care for
• $25 helps purchase 1 bag of soil and 1 bag of compost for the children’s garden

At United Community, we work alongside families to ensure that everyone in our community has the opportunity to thrive. Every day, our programs provide critical support—meeting immediate needs while helping people build a more stable future.

In 2025, together with our supporters, volunteers, and partners, we made a meaningful impact:

• 2,000+ families served each year through our programs and services
• 1,128,630 pounds of food distributed to neighbors facing food insecurity
• 78 children enrolled in our Early Learning Center, receiving high-quality early childhood education
• 106 community members building their future through the Family Achievement Program
• 705 adults supported through Progreso, receiving ESL classes, citizenship education, and immigration support
• 2,925 volunteer hours contributed by caring community members
