The Salvation Army National Capital Area Command

A nonprofit organization

When you think of giving to The Salvation Army, your mind may flashback to Christmas – and hearing bells jingling and visions of those bright red buckets. While there is no doubt the annual red kettle remains our most recognizable way to give, we are excited to join this year's Spring2ACTion as need knows no season

Locally, The Salvation Army National Capital Area Command serves over 200,000 annually through programs and community centers across the Nation's Capital, Northern Virginia, Suburban and Southern Maryland.  Whether it is a hot meal, help paying a bill, or a more long-term obstacle, our team is ready to serve anyone in need.

At our Alexandria Citadel Corps, we serve the community through emergency financial assistance for rent and utilities, provide seasonal support such as Angel Tree and summer camps, youth and music programs, and other programs to serve the needs of the community in Alexandria. Just last year, our Alexandria Citadel Corps opened the Railton Residence, a two-year transitional housing program for men who recently graduated from The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center but are not quite ready to live independently.

This year, during Spring2ACTion, we are calling on you, our local neighbors throughout Alexandria, for help! ACT NOW TO DO THE MOST GOOD!

We serve all without discrimination.
