The Miracle League of Alexandria

Thank you for donating to The Miracle League of Alexandria (a 501c3 tax exempt charitable organization). We are a group of volunteers running a regional program in conjunction with the Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities for youth and adults with mental and physical disabilities. The league removes the barriers that keep children and adults with mental and physical disabilities off the sports field and lets them experience the joy of recreational activities. The Miracle League is about making new friends, building self-esteem and being treated just like other athletes.  

Your generous donations will be used for support to the city of Alexandria's special needs community, including working with city rec centers and schools to build or enhance sensory rooms. We are also working toward creating sensory bags so that all visitors and community members feel included! We also financially support anyone who wishes to join but cannot afford any special needs or adaptive program.

Our program provides children between the ages of 5 and 17, and adults 18 years & up, regardless of their ability, to play Miracle League Baseball. On their own or with help, players have the opportunity to hit a pitched ball, hit a ball off of a batting tee, throw, catch, and even score a run. We provide all equipment for them to use and each player receives a hat and shirt upon joining. Players also receive lots of cheers, high-fives, lots of smiles and love when they play in our league! The Miracle Field is a special rubberized 60’ diamond-shaped surface baseball field that accommodates wheelchairs and other assistive devices while helping to prevent injuries. The field is geared towards baseball, but many other sports and activities can be played on it including adaptive soccer, wheelchair basketball, T-ball, senior exercise, and therapeutic sessions.
