Rising Hope United Methodist Mission Church

Rising Hope Mission Church is built on the belief that everyone deserves access to a community of support, and the opportunity to grow beyond their circumstances to achieve their self-expressed outcomes in life. Rising Hope began in 1996 for individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty along the Route 1 Corridor, historically amongst the lowest income areas in Fairfax County.

We offer assistance through our Food Market, Rising Hope Kitchen, Hope Closet, Hypothermia Shelter, and countless other need-based services. Our guests have been, or are presently, experiencing the hardships associated with poverty. Oftentimes, what is communicated to us, is the need for access to emergency food, clothing, emergency sheltering, utility/rental support, and assistance in finding affordable housing. Our ultimate goal is to provide a community of support through a holistic approach that assists individuals transition into long-term sustainability. We not only assess the needs of our neighbors through surveys and reviewing the data available to us through county and state resources, but we live in the community and know the people who come to us.

This is not simply a place where transactions of services occur. This is a place where we eat together, share together, and hear one another in our joys and our trials. We talk over hot meals and learn from one another daily. This is why Rising Hope is a place where those who come in need, often find themselves sticking around to serve. We are supported through an ever-growing community of volunteers, churches, and community support partners. The good news is that there is still room to grow with you!
