For over 20 years, you've helped Alexandria's only free-roaming, no-kill cat rescue facility change the lives of 5,000 cats and kittens. Will you help us change more?

King Street Cats provides a safe haven for the cats that need it most—seniors, special-needs cats, pregnant strays, and newborn kittens—when area shelters and other rescues cannot.

Special needs cats like Cutie, who was among several neurologically impaired kitties we rescued in 2024. Cutie was found outside caring for six kittens. As if that wasn’t hard enough, she has severe cerebellar hypoplasia (“wobbly cat” syndrome), so even walking is a challenge. Thanks to donors like YOU, we saved Cutie and her kittens. And we're thrilled to report that they are all thriving in their forever homes. Seven lives changed!

Senior cats like Oliver, still going strong at 18 in his KSC “retirement home,” and Lottie and Flanagan, now nearly 15, who heartbreakingly lost their mom and were returned to us when their dad could no longer care for them due to his own health struggles.

And then there are kittens like Boris and Natasha. Another desperate call—one more tiny kitten found outside, barely clinging to life. Could we help? Thanks to supporters like YOU, we rushed Natasha to the vet multiple times as she fought to survive. Just as she finally turned the corner, we got another call—her brother, Boris, had appeared. Terrified, hungry, and injured, he, too, needed urgent care.Finally, the moment came to reunite them. After everything they had endured, would they remember each other? We think the photo says it all. Two more lives changed—because of you.

KSC is a rare safe haven for "hard to adopt" cats. Our dedicated volunteers and fabulous foster families will give them all the TLC they need to learn to trust again and all the time they require until they are ready to go to a forever home.

We are often the only hope for special cats and kittens like Cutie, Oliver, Lottie, Flanagan, Boris and Natasha. But that puts a tremendous strain on our financial resources. It’s only thanks to people like you we can continue our critical work.
