Being Present Matters for Alexandria Students

At CIS NOVA, being present matters. Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Our evidenced-based model connects students to caring adults and community resources to transform how they see and experience the world around them. 

Our team shows up for students every day with comprehensive student supports ensuring they have what they need to thrive in school and beyond, such as: tutoring, mentoring, college and career readiness programs, non-academic support (Girls on the Run, Healthy Plate Club, monthly food bags, art club, soccer club, and so much more), family engagement initiatives, and access to essential resources (such as free eye exam and glasses through our partnership with VSP).

Last year, we supported over 8,400 students in Alexandria, with 100% of our case-managed seniors graduating.

CIS NOVA currently serves seven Alexandria City schools—William Ramsay ES, John Adams ES, Samuel W. Tucker ES, Francis C. Hammond MS, Jefferson Houston, Alexandria City HS, and the Minnie Howard Campus of ACHS supported by ten CIS NOVA full time dedicated team members.
