The Breast Cancer Collective, formerly National Breast Center Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to expand access to timely breast cancer care.

Your Spring2ACTion gift fuels practical, local help: access to breast cancer screening and diagnostic care, transportation, and compassionate support for uninsured and underinsured neighbors in Alexandria and across Northern Virginia.

We work with clinical partners to reduce out-of-pocket costs based on eligibility and available funds.

Too many neighbors still face barriers that delay care, including cost, language, transportation, and time away from work. Your gift helps keep screening, diagnostic follow-up, and practical support within reach when it matters most.

When Access Comes in Time

A young woman in our community found a lump in her breast at just 23 years old. With a strong family history of breast cancer, she knew she needed answers quickly, but insurance, language, and care barriers made timely follow-up feel out of reach.

Through Breast Cancer Collective’s community partnerships, she was connected to diagnostic imaging, follow-up testing, and coordinated care without delay. Today, she is cancer-free and raising her young family.

Why Alexandria and the DC Metro area?

In Alexandria and the surrounding region, access to care is not equal. Some communities face higher rates of late-stage diagnosis and breast cancer mortality, along with greater barriers to screening and follow-up care. Language, transportation, and financial challenges continue to delay care for too many neighbors.
