Alexandria A Cappella Collective

Based in Alexandria for nearly seventy years, the Harmonizers are an award-winning men's chorus specializing in four-part a cappella harmony. We have performed at venues such as the White House, Supreme Court, and the Kennedy Center, and on tours in China, France and Germany.

 

Closer to home, the Harmonizers provide a variety of free public performances each year throughout Alexandria. We also maintain an active musical outreach program to local high school students, including our annual Youth Harmony festival.

 

A special project for the Harmonizers in 2017 is exploring the historical roots of barbershop harmony. A uniquely American art form, barbershop shares a common heritage with African-American gospel music and spirituals. As part of this year-long project we are learning gospel songs and are co-hosting this year's GospelFEST with the City of Alexandria in May. We also are bringing to Alexandria -- twice -- the Grammy award-winning gospel quartet The Fairfield Four, who will be performing at several concerts and workshops in the area.

The Alexandria A Cappella Collective (AACC) is more than a group of singers—we are a community united by the power of music. Through harmony and purpose, we bring the joy of singing and the benefits of music to the Greater DC Area.

AACC is a collective of ensembles, each with its own unique voice: 

 The Harmonizers – A beloved tradition for over seven decades, delivering heartfelt performances. 

 Metro Voices – A dynamic treble ensemble captivating audiences with vocal brilliance. 

 Capital Force – Our youth chorus, launched in 2024, proving that a small ensemble can make a big impact. 

 Coming Soon: Vintage Blend – A new opportunity for seasoned singers to continue sharing their passion.
