For more than 50 years, Wesley Housing has provided permanent, affordable housing to over 35,000 households experiencing financial insecurity across Virginia and Washington, D.C.
Housing is the foundation of a stable life—and it’s the cornerstone of our work. Wesley Housing pairs quality, affordable housing with a robust, award-winning Resident Services program focused on long-term housing stability. When housing is secure, individuals can focus on their health, pursue education and employment, and fully participate in their communities.
Today, more than 4,700 residents call a Wesley Housing community home. Many have faced historical exclusion and intergenerational poverty that have created barriers to opportunity. We meet these challenges head-on by ensuring every resident has access to the systems and resources they need to thrive.
Through our Housing Stability Initiative (HSI), grounded in a “housing first” philosophy, residents receive eviction prevention services, financial literacy training, workforce development support, youth and adult education programs, and health and wellness resources. Together, these services help residents not just remain housed—but build better futures.
As the cost of housing continues to rise, Wesley Housing intends to deliver more affordable housing options throughout the region. We currently have over 1,000 affordable housing units in development, including new construction and renovations, which will be home to more than 1,400 residents.
With your help, we can continue building up the lives of families, children, adults, older adults, and people with disabilities and chronic illnesses living on limited incomes. To learn more, visit us at wesleyhousing.org.
