$5,000 Goal

The Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail partner with the National Park Service to improve the trail through volunteer events and financial support. Since October of 2020, we've organized over 300 events with 7,000+ volunteers providing 17,000+ hours to make the trail safer and improve its natural surroundings. Volunteers remove trail bumps, pick up trash, remove graffiti, fill potholes, remove invasive vegetation and make repairs to bridges and benches.

Last year Spring2Action donors helped us install 7 new water fountains on the trail that provide year round water, bottle fillers and are wheelchair accessible.

This year Spring2Action donors will be supporting three great projects:

Picnic Table Replacement
Trash Can Installation Boundary Stone Preservation
We're replacing damaged picnic tables with new ADA compliant tables to provide rest areas on the trail and its parks.

Help create a trash free trail! We're installing new trash cans on the trail and its parks.

Help us preserve the southern DC Boundary Stone at Jones Point Lighthouse. We're replacing its damaged enclosure and cleaning out debris.

Matching Donation - All Spring2Action donations will be matched up to $2,500!
