Mother of Light Center

Mother of Light Center (MOLC) has been in operation since February 2019 serving the most vulnerable men, women and children struggling with poverty, food insecurity, and homelessness.  We serve the greater Alexandria area, with the majority of those we serve residing in the local Arlandria neighborhood.  MOLC is led and staffed by volunteers, and we rely on generous donations from the community for funding.  

We provide critical support through our high-volume food pantry which distributes over 50,000 pounds of food per month, supporting up to 4,000 people, including 1,600 children. Our pantry also provides essential household items, diapers, and clothing to those in need.

In addition to addressing basic physical needs, MOLC offers a wide range of educational programs to equip those we serve with key life skills.  We host an after-school program, teen program, single mothers’ group, children’s reading program, ESL classes and summer camp.
