“Explore Your Potential”

Fly Minds Youth Development Corporation aims to inspire and educate underserved youth in the community of Alexandria by offering an array of enrichment and educational programs.  Fly Minds is all about elevating and challenging young minds through hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) activities led by engineering professionals. 

Our current activities include:

* Enrichment programs with Link Club at Hammond Middle School, Jefferson-Houston K-12 and various other locations throughout the city.  Youth ages 9 and up learn about circuits, how to build and navigate a drone, 3D printing.  As an added bonus the participants are exposed to guest speakers from scientists actively using the technologies they are learning.  

* The robotics program gives youth the opportunity to program & design robots, compete in regional competitions and win scholarships. 

By giving the youth these opportunities, we provide exposure to relevant technologies such as the metaverse, 3D printing, drones and robotics.  Additionally, the youth also strengthen their social and team-building skills.

Fly Minds aims to positively impact the lives of today’s youth and provide them with a sense of community and belonging. Our community programs and partnerships also provide local professionals an avenue to give more to the youth.  Our programs are provided at no cost to the youth, therefore, we rely on your support to fuel the programs. With your support, Fly Minds can touch the lives of over 100 children throughout the year.  The funds we raise will sustain current activities and also assist in developing future curriculum such as an aviation program.   Join our us in our efforts to encourage youth to Explore Their Potential!
