$2,000 Goal

OSG’s mission is unwavering. In partnership with affordable housing providers and social service organizations, we create inclusive communities where adults with developmental disabilities can live, grow, and thrive—with access to public transit, groceries, green spaces, and the supports they need.

To foster interdependence and belonging, we build in safety nets like our OSG Community Builder, along with social coaching, art therapy, yoga classes, and more. Our work grows from empathy, equity, and the voices of those we serve. We are proud to be part of a disability-forward movement, building a more just and inclusive world, one community at a time.

The Numbers Don't Lie

7.4 million adults in the U.S. live with developmental disabilities.

Of these 5.5 million have autism.

Just like any other adult, people with DD long to lead purposeful lives and belong to a larger community.

85% of adults with a developmental disability are unemployed. Those who are lucky enough to have employment usually earn minimum wage or below. This makes the dream of living outside the family home almost impossible.

Only 45% of adults with I/DD have access to publicly funded support. Currently, 80,000 are on a wait list. This makes the dream of living outside the family home almost impossible.

Despite 62% of adults with a developmental disability yearning to have a place of their own 75% live with family.

For some their primary caregivers are parents who are aging. 20% live with a parent over the age of 60. In addition, there is a nationwide shortage of service providers to aid those who need extra support.

What will happen to these adults as their caregivers age and eventually pass away?

This is where OSG comes in. We can help solve the housing crisis and loneliness epidemic that exists today for adults with disabilities. This is why it’s so important that we succeed.
