Christopher is Singing it Forward!

Ask me how I got here. A friend thought it would be fun to sing together. Simple enough. What followed was anything but simple, in the best way.

Singing with this group is, genuinely, something like meditation. It centers and balances. In a sea of uncertainty, rehearsal night is an island of peace. I did not expect to find that in a community chorus in Alexandria, Virginia. And yet.

Every member of this organization contributes beyond the stage. Sometimes that starts small. I showed up one night to set up chairs with Bill. One small ask from a volunteer organization that turned into board membership, membership support, event coordination, mentoring new singers, First VP, and chairing our transition committee under a new Music Director. Turns out “just setting up chairs” has a way of pulling you in. No regrets whatsoever.
