Saving Danville Animals Quarters 1 & 2

HT launched a full-time program in Danville, VA in 2025 with the goal of decreasing the 85%+ euthanasia rate at the only shelter in town. 

Our full-time program director works diligently to secure rescue for dozens of cats and dogs weekly. We have been slowly building a local foster network and volunteers.

We operate a weekly pet food pantry. We provide ongoing Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return for hundreds of outdoor and owned kitties whose loving caretakers have literally nowhere else to turn.

As one of Virginia's highest euthanizing communities (see their statistics here:  (Animal Custody Records ), Homeward Trails Danville is the only lifesaving options for thousands of animals.

This work is some of our most important. The animals and the people who love them deserve these resources and we are working so very hard to make lifesaving the way of doing business.

Each quarter in 2026 our goal is to raise $5,000 specifically for our Danville program. All donations up to $5,000 per quarter will be matched 1:1 thanks to a group of generous HT donors.
