Sweet Hound Mix is Hoping to be Rescued

Archer is a two year old hound mix from southern Virginia who has already known too much loneliness for such a young dog. As a stray, he learned to survive on his own, wandering, searching for scraps, never knowing where he’d sleep or if he’d be safe, and now he sits quietly in a rural shelter where the chances of adoption are heartbreakingly low. Days pass with little attention, and it’s far too easy for dogs like Archer to be forgotten, growing older behind kennel doors instead of in a home. Homeward Trails wants to give him a real chance to replace fear with comfort, and isolation with love, but they can’t pull him to safety without the support of donations and sponsors. Without help, Archer could spend the rest of his life waiting in that shelter, his story fading before it ever truly began.
