Music lifts me, both literally and figuratively. It moves my body, my spirit, and my soul in ways that nothing else can. Singing with The Alexandria Singers brings me joy beyond measure. It allows me to tell stories through song, through movement, through connection. Bonus: there’s choreography, so I can keep my groove moving!
Since joining this remarkable group in 2015, the Singers have become my extended family, my chosen family. Alongside my synagogue and residential community, this group is one of the core communities that grounds and inspires me. The love I feel here, the encouragement to be my full expressive self, and the chance to grow artistically in my later years is a gift I treasure deeply. In rehearsal, anything can happen — wrong notes, surprise solos, dance moves I swear weren’t in the choreography last week — but somehow, we always pull off something magical together.
And there is so much still ahead. This May 29-30, we take the stage at Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria for Dream Loud, our 2026 concert weekend. I hope you will be there. And in 2027, as I celebrate my 80th birthday, this group is planning a trip to Spain and Morocco. I intend to be on that adventure! ✈️🧳
To keep this music alive and accessible to everyone, we rely on your generosity. Through our pay-what-you-wish ticket model and community outreach, we ensure that cost is never a barrier to the magic of live music. That is why when early giving opens on April 8th, I will be proud to launch my Spring2ACTion fundraiser with my own personal donation, because I believe that strongly in this mission.
If music, community, and joy matter to you, please support this campaign with whatever you are able. Every gift helps us reach more hearts. And please share this page with your networks. Every voice, every dollar, and every donor belongs here.
