She Didn't Know Her Owners Were Getting Rid of Her

Sadie is just 2 years old, a beautiful Aussie mix from southern Virginia who lost everything without ever understanding why. Sadie wasn’t “bad”, she was just being a dog, trying to make sense of a busy farm where instincts took over and no one was there to guide her or help her learn a different way. Instead of patience or training, Sadie was given up. Her presence began costing the farm money, and that alone made her no longer acceptable to the only home she knew. One day she had a place, a purpose, familiar smells and sounds, and the next, she was alone in a shelter, confused and searching for the people who didn’t choose to keep her. You can almost feel her trying to piece it together, wondering what she did wrong and why no one gave her a chance to be better. Homeward Trails wants to step in and give Sadie the understanding and safety she was never given, but they can’t do it without support.
