One of the thing I am passionate about is Engineering. While I haven’t picked a specific field of engineering, I am really engaged in the general aspect of Engineering- overall. I had never had lots of experience with lots of engineering, and I didn’t know what I would pursue in the engineering field. But, one thing I always loved was youtubers designing, building, and coding their machines. Ever since I can remember, these videos really got me invested in being a part of the whole processes of creation. As I researched more about this topic, I found out that this field was called mechatronics. My passion for Mechanical Engineering and STEM overall played a big reason for joining my highschool’s FIRST Robotics team. At the robotics team, there are different subteams that are involved in different engineering fields. And this has allowed to chase my passion for all types of engineering. I have helped built 3 robots in my time at my robotics club. I have used CAD and Cam to design the robot and its parts. I used a cnc router to cut the parts. Then, I helped assemble the parts by screwing, riveting, and bolting things together. Even the mechanical side of the team gave me lots of enjoyment. On the other hand, I was still interested in the electrical side of the team. I learnt how to crimp wires and how to connect circuits. Then, I helped code the wrist of the robot and learnt how the programming team uses commands to control motors than inturn control the physical parts. Robotics has taught me so much and I am ever grateful for everyone on the team.
