Bravo Lost His Mama and His Leg

Bravo is only 4.5 months old, but in just a few short months of life, this little Lab mix has already experienced unimaginable heartbreak. Someone spotted dogs along a highway in rural Virginia and called Animal Control, but when help arrived, Bravo’s mother was already dead and Bravo was badly injured. This tiny puppy was suddenly alone, hurt and without the mama who should have been there to protect him. His injuries were so severe that last Friday, a local veterinarian had to amputate his entire right leg at the shoulder. Somehow, through all of that pain and loss, sweet Bravo is fighting. He is recovering well in a temporary foster home, and Homeward Trails wants to bring him into an HT foster home where he can finish healing and begin the search for the forever family he deserves. Bravo should be enjoying toys, treats and puppy mischief, not learning how to navigate life on three legs after losing his mother.
