Kathy Opitz, Where my voice belongs

I joined the Alexandria Singers because I love to sing. My husband and I first became introduced to the singers at the Crafts Fair in Alexandria the Spring of 2024. I loved the fact the singers performed modern pop songs like Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Carol King & more. My husband filmed the group. Later we learned a dear neighbor sings with Alexandria Singers. She encouraged me to audition. I was very nervous, but was put at ease by the warm reception I received. The members of this group are friendly, inclusive and very talented. They come together in harmony to make beautiful music together and lasting memories. The Alexandria Singers contributes to our local community through various outreach opportunities such as: Toys for Tots, performances at Alexandria’s detention center, choral work with senior citizens and the youth of our community as well as other musical educational opportunities.
